Today marks the anniversary of the passing of Kayode Owens, a remarkable leader whose vision and dedication continue to inspire us. Kayode was not only Unseen's fearless founder, but also the heart and soul of our mission to create meaningful opportunities for those often overlooked by traditional venture capital. Kayode’s journey was one of determination and commitment to lifting up his community. His work was deeply personal, driven by his own experiences and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their background. Kayode is remembered by those who knew him as a compassionate and driven individual who constantly put others before himself. He was a mentor, a connector, and a champion for justice, whose legacy is one of breaking barriers and creating pathways for underrepresented entrepreneurs. His dedication to making the world a better place is something that continues to resonate with all who were touched by his life. Though Kayode is no longer with us, his vision and values continue to guide Unseen. We honor his memory by striving to make the world a more equitable place, one investment at a time.
