Toyota Tsusho America's Women's Leadership Connection (WLC) Georgetown recently held its second annual Golf for Good outing at The Griffin Gate Golf Club in Lexington, KY., with 13 teams and 52 total players teeing off. Beyond the friendly competition and opportunity to network with colleagues outside their own offices, the event served a greater purpose: charitable giving. All proceeds went to New Day Life Center (NDLC), a daytime shelter and connecting point for support and resources for those experiencing homelessness in Lexington.   Through a combination of Division Passion Project funds – from four TAI divisions – and corporate dollars, WLC raised a donation of $22,000. Phillip Miller, Board Chairman of NLDC, accepted the ceremonial check presented by WLC at the post-match luncheon. Thanks to all who participated!

A recent celebration of some promising young Appalachian students provided an illustration of Toyota Tsusho’s commitment to building a better future for us all. At a banquet in Whitesburg, Ky, four students each received a $5,000 scholarship toward their higher-education goals. Those scholarships were made possible because of a long-standing relationship between Toyota Tsusho America, Shaping Our Appalachian Region and Teach for America Appalachia. Team members from the Toyota Tsusho Supply Chain Division recently enjoyed a day of camaraderie and friendly competition during a company-sponsored best-ball scramble. Teams were put together based on the members’ different TAI departments, roles and golf skill levels. Several participants left the course with gifts. Prizes were awarded for longest drive, closest shot to the pin on a par-3, and the best Happy Gilmore-style drive.  It was a great day on the links for a group of aspiring TAI golfers!
