A school is just a building without qualified teachers. This is a driving force to why Teaching Training Together exists. We believe that every teacher should have an opportunity to be a lifelong learner to become a more effective teacher. “Probably nothing within a school has more impact on students in terms of skill development, self-confidence, or classroom behavior than the personal and professional growth of their teachers.” (Roland Barth) Roland Barth suggests there are three types of teachers: Group 1 - Teachers who are unable and unwilling to critically examine their teaching practice and unable to have other adults – teachers, school leaders, parents – examine what and how they are teaching. Group 2 - Teachers who are quite able and willing to continuously scrutinize and reflect on what they do and make use of their insights to affect periodic changes. These teachers are uncomfortable accepting examination of their practice by other adults. Group 3 - Teachers who are able and willing to critically scrutinize their practice and are quite able and willing, even desiring to make their practice accessible to other adults.
