LP RETREAT 🌴⛰️🍇Had an amazing time hosting a large group of curated single family offices and institutional LPs from all over the world come in to San Francisco. We called this the “NAPA LP Retreat”. We all met at the Presidio in San Francisco and took a shuttle to a private Vineyard. We shared our thoughts intimately on the venture market and here’s a few takeaways -Many single family offices have a multi asset strategy; that means along with venture, they have family businesses & holding companies that also need support. That’s where private equity & buyout come into play to expand growth across the holdings -Liquidity is going to be a constant issue when venture is an illiquid market especially with such long hold times, so we’ll see opportunities for secondaries , M&A transactions, and strategic roll ups -When it comes to ai, managers are focusing on more granular subsets like ai copilots , or dev tools that support workflows that are 2-3 levels deeper in ai technologies -Managers need to be thoughtful when they think of their reserves strategy for follow-on capital.
