NEW POLL: Battleground support for paid leave has risen since 2022 â and now is at a record high 91%. This tracks across groups, from 95% of suburban women to 91% of non-college men voters. 88% of battleground voters support closing corporate tax loopholes to invest in paid leave, child care, and long-term care, including 99% of Democrats, 81% of independents, and 79% of Republicans. Two-thirds of voters would be more likely to support a candidate who advocates for paid leave, child care, and long-term care and a majority of voters agree that a new Congress should prioritize them all.

Our member, Amy, tells @QueensChronicle, about the extraordinary hardship her family has faced because of NY's #childcare crisis. She's urging @GovKathyHochul to sign the 3 bills on her desk that would help 10,000 NY families afford care. #CareCantWait https://lnkd.in/g2jmUCUd

"That's what America is â helping people, and I'm part of that. So I'm happy." An OR nurse who fled war in Sierra Leone shares her story of resilience. Her story is not unusual; across the country immigrants make up more than 18% of the nation's healthcare workers, 18% of childcare workers, 27% of the direct care workforce, and nearly 13% of the education workforce. Immigrants are our nation's strength.

We are grieved by the loss of a great champion in the fight for wage justice. Lilly Ledbetter was a courageous fighter and we are eternally grateful for her bravery. She has forever impacted the fight for fair pay. Thank you #LillyLedbetter

Last week, we had a historic meeting at the White House to discuss urgent measures to make Latine communities safer from gun violence. This first-of-its-kind gathering with the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention brought together 40 Latine leaders from across the country to amplify our voices and concerns. The meeting was led by the Community Justice Action Fund, Hope and Heal Fund, GIFFORDS, and MomsRising, uniting us in our shared mission. Gun violence is a critical issue for Latina moms and families. To truly protect our communities, we must address gun violence as the public health crisis that it is. We are grateful to the Biden/Harris administration for hosting such a productive conversation. This is just the start of the collaboration needed to advance policies that will ensure the safety of Latina moms and the entire Latinx community. Together, we can make change happen. ð #EndGunViolence

Today, October 3rd, is #LatinaEqualPay Day â we use this day to rally against the egregious wage discrimination Latinas face in the workforce. Latinas earn only 51 cents for every $1 paid to white men working part-time, full-time, and part year. For Latina moms, it's just 41 cents because in addition to sexism and racism, caregivers face additional wage discrimination and barriers to employment. This is not okay! We need #LatinaEqualPay for #trabajadoras everywhere. Take action today by telling Congress we need the #PaycheckFairnessAct & the #BEHEARDAct NOW! https://lnkd.in/gWYysR2P

#DisabledWomensEqualPayDay is today, September 18, 2024 â a crucial moment to spotlight the vast wage gap disabled women face in the U.S. While nondisabled men earn $1, disabled women working full-time, year-round earn just 67 cents. When you include part-time and part-year workers, that number drops to 50 cents. https://lnkd.in/gAmC3CDi
