We love seeing experts, like Pivot Bio's own Clayton Nevins, contributing their expertise on important topics like weather volatility and its impact on #nitrogenmanagement. Itâs conversations like these that drive innovation and help move the industry forward. #agriculture
Wetter springs and unpredictable summers: What does this mean for nitrogen management? Farm Progress is great for new tech, but this year I really enjoyed getting a climatologist's perspective on future weather in the Midwest. I attended Farm Progress and listened to Dr. Dennis Todey (Director of the Midwest Climate Hub in Ames, IA) talk about the shifting climate, and after this, I began to see that the future of nitrogen management might be a growing challenge as we see more intense, large rainfalls in the spring. Check out my latest article, where I share my thoughts about what it will take to stay ahead of what the future spring weather will bring.

Farmers make decisions every day based on a number of factors. After visiting Indonesia, Ag Economist Mac Marshall discovered local farmers making planting choices based purely on needing to get a crop in the ground. Hear about the parallels between this, and American farmers working through the recent fluctuations in fertilizer prices.

The Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) exists to help build partnerships funding research that addresses our global food and agriculture challenges. Pivot Bio is excited to be a part of FFAR's Efficient Fertilizer Consortium, which seeks to advance research on plant nutrition products that increase efficiency while reducing loss. Along with seven other public and private sector partners, we are committed to providing farmers with accurate, science-based information about products and practices that work in various cropping systems. Companies within the biofuel industry are making moves to reduce their carbon footprint with new incentives set to go into effect in 2025 under the Inflation Reduction Act. Pivot Bioâs solutions, which avoid upstream and downstream emissions thanks to our microbial nitrogen fertilizer, can help lower the carbon intensity of crops like corn and sorghum, and will be critical to decarbonizing feedstocks used for fuel. Â While we wait for the 45z guidance to be finalized, Pivot Bioâs N-OVATOR program is already rewarding farmers for growing their crops more sustainably by connecting them with companies looking to lower their Scope 3 emissions. Itâs a win for the farmer, and our planet. https://lnkd.in/eU6RJ9hk
