We're in business to save our home planet.
About us
Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia is an outdoor apparel company based in Ventura, California. A certified B-Corporation, Patagoniaâs mission is to save our home planet. The company is recognized internationally for its commitment to authentic product quality and environmental activism, donating 1% of sales annually, contributing over $100 million in grants and in-kind donations since 1985. Weâre always looking for motivated people to join us in our retail stores; at our Ventura, California headquarters; Reno, Nevada Service Center; and occasionally in our overseas offices. Weâre especially interested if you love spending as much time as possible in the mountains or the wild, feel more at home in a base camp or on the river than an office, and have a passion for something outside of yourself, whether for surfing or opera, climbing or gardening, skiing or community activism. Learn more about who we are and how we hire by visiting our Careers website at http://www.patagonia.com/us/careers.

Why is quality an environmental issue? An evening of expert talks, film screenings, and more. A healthy planet (and economy) needs a better model than buying and selling more and more things people donât need. But can less truly mean more? With help from environmentalists, scientists, psychologists and product experts, weâll come together for an evening of discussions and film screenings to unpick the issue of qualityâexploring humanityâs destructive addiction to cheap crap and how we might begin to save ourselves from⦠ourselves. âAt Patagonia, our purpose is âWeâre in business to save our home planet,â and weâre really serious about that. And we also feel we need to use all the tools in the toolbox to save our home planet, and that includes electing leaders who share our sense of urgency in addressing this crisis.â  Listen to K. Corley Kenna's interview on why Patagonia prioritizes civic engagement and why we have closed our doors since 2016 on Election Day to help our employees get out the vote. https://lnkd.in/gaf98PGf

âFrankly, weâre running out of time for saving the natural world. If there was ever a moment for a Hail Mary pass in conservation, I think this is it.â Kris Tompkins, our first CEO, took to the TED stage to speak about her lifeâs work with Tompkins Conservation, the beauty of seeing once-degraded landscapes flourish again and share a new revolutionary vision to restore a continent. âNot many books on climate are hopeful. The solutions offered are rarely within anyoneâs abilities. These 20 interviews with fascinating experts are a surprisingly quick read. Critically, What If We Get It Right? reminds us of the most important solution of all: protecting and restoring nature, the magic of photosynthesis and water cycle. If you need a kick in the pants to roll up your sleeves on climate solutions, this book is for you.â Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia  Congratulations to Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, a member of Patagoniaâs board of directors, for the release of her latest book, What If We Get It Right? Dr. Johnson is a marine biologist, policy expert, writer and teacher. She co-founded and leads Urban Ocean Lab, a think tank for the future of coastal cities, and is the Roux Distinguished Scholar at Bowdoin College. Her new book provides an inspiring landscape of possible climate solutions through essays, interviews, data, poetry and art.  Dr. Johnson previously co-edited the bestselling climate anthology All We Can Save, co-created and co-hosted the Spotify/Gimlet podcast How to Save a Planet, and co-authored the Blue New Deal, a roadmap for including the ocean in climate policy. She earned a BA in environmental science and public policy from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in marine biology from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. She also serves on the board of directors for GreenWave and on the advisory board of Environmental Voter Project.  Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gKJtQyni
