  • In celebration of #WorldKindnessDay, Otsuka-people across the country took time to give back for our third annual Kindness Day at Otsuka. This year, we recognized and spread kindness with gratitude, action, and service through a plethora of activities, including volunteering and supporting different organizations.     For more than 100 years, Otsuka-people have strived to help others and create better health worldwide. Our promise has been to invest in programs, policies, products, and advocacy efforts that help remove stigma and discrimination, increase access to care, and address social determinants of health. This is not just our promise, it is our passion.      Learn more about our Social Impact commitment: https://bit.ly/3O2uzU7 #KindnessAtOtsuka #WorldKindnessDay

  • Today, we extend gratitude and appreciation to our veterans, to all those who have served, and to those currently on active duty for the United States Armed Forces.     We recognize the significance of their service and sacrifice and thank our veterans for bringing their diversity of lived experiences and thoughts to our culture of inclusion and belonging.   Your values inspire unique contributions that drive forward the heart of our mission – to create new products and health solutions, ultimately enabling equity and access to better outcomes for our people, patients, community, and humanity.    Learn more now: https://bit.ly/40wB0GE    #VeteransDay #DefyLimitation

  • Tarek Rabah, President & CEO, recently participated in a panel session at the 2024 HLTH USA in Las Vegas on prioritizing innovation to create a more equitable mental healthcare system. These conversations are so important because access to mental health care still remains a large barrier for many who live with mental illness. At Otsuka, we hold a deep respect for the value of every mind. We will not rest until mental illnesses and brain diseases are approached with the same priority and urgency as our physical health and recognized as chronic diseases that warrant early, equitable, and accessible intervention for patients and caregivers everywhere.

  • In our latest episode of Still Here, these brave caregivers boldly decide to strategically choose joy and happiness in the tough moments. Their strength under circumstance inspires us each and every day to find joy in the smallest of moments. We know that within the mind of every caregiver, there is an immeasurable love and an unimaginable strength. To bring to light their unwavering dedication, Otsuka is dedicated to sharing their stories—to valuing the minds of caregivers everywhere.    Watch the installment now: https://bit.ly/4fENY9F All featured caregivers are paid collaborators of Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc.  #StillHere #FindingJoy #CaregivingJourney

  • To underscore the urgency of the caregiving crisis, new research conducted by Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and sponsored by Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. (Otsuka), quantifies and contextualizes the current value of family caregiving to both society and the healthcare system in the U.S.   If all unpaid caregiving were reimbursed, it would add nearly 20% to national health expenditures, a life-altering number.    We stand by brave family caregivers and their voices, like Jacquelyn Revere who took on the role of caregiver at 29 years old, as they shine a light on the reality and nature of being a caregiver.    As a society, we must work together to enhance the lives of caregivers through pioneering meaningful systematic changes that will lessen the challenges they face every day.    Read more now: https://bit.ly/3UwX0xc

  • Did you know if caregiving for Alzheimer’s or other dementias had its own GDP, it would be valued at nearly $346.6 billion, placing it between Wisconsin’s 2023 GDP of $413.9 billion, ranked 22nd, and Connecticut’s $340.2 billion, ranked 23rd?     With the rising aging population, new cases of Alzheimer’s or other dementias are projected to increase. Unpaid family caregivers will continue to play a crucial role in navigating the complex system, managing home-related tasks, and providing continuous monitoring for their loved ones while navigating the financial burden it takes on.     As a society, we must work together to enhance the lives of family caregivers.
