Louis P. Barbarin, chief executive officer of the Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board, announced his retirement effective August 31, 2025. Entrepreneurs, business owners, and wage earners may use or hear the term “fiscal year” often. The fiscal year is a 12-month period used by governments and businesses for accounting and financial reporting purposes. It does not necessarily align with the calendar year. For instance, the U.S. federal government’s fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30. This framework allows organizations to plan budgets, evaluate financial performance, and implement strategies based on annual data.

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) This passage reminds us as Christians to rejoice, pray and give thanks for our blessings in all situations. These verses are often referred to as "the standing orders of the gospel." Our circumstances and feelings should never stop us from praising God, praying, showing compassion or acting kindly. By doing so, we recognize that God is the source of joy and thanksgiving, and the Lord deserves our honor and praise.
