LONG POST BUT IMPORTANT MESSAGE - Do you compare yourself with other nonprofit organizations all the time? Do you get bummed out when others seem to have more success than you? Here is a lesson that could be learned from my boys. This week, my boys hit over 1000 subscribers on their YouTube channel. They are so excited. I know, in the grand scheme of things, thatâs not a lot. Itâs not the millions that influencers are always trying to shoot for but here is the thing I love: 1) They donât care that they have less subscribers than famous influencers. They joyfully have fun moving forward based on whatâs right for them. 2) In similar fashion, they like to watch other channels to see best practices, but they never get concerned about about how they stack up. 3) It is still more subscribers than a lot of people have. Imagine if they gave up just because they compared themselves to others. Other YouTube channels, which might have been around longer, who have more resources, and quite franklyâ¦. who might have more interesting topics. If 2, ten year old kids can figure out the importance of comparison and benchmarking, without letting jealousy or depression get in the wayâ¦.. why canât we as adults? #Nonprofits #NonprofitLeadership #KeepPushing

Thanks to my boys for reminding me to keep pushing even when it can be a grind. There are so many life lessons watching our own kids doing things, that us adults can learn from. #Truth

Believe me if you want . . . Don't believe me if you want . . . Capital Campaign Fact - Raising the money for a building is the easy part. It's the continued support for operations of the building which is the hard part. Solution - BE PREPARED!!! Have a pro forma budget ready, based on sincere and evidence based assumptions and due diligence. Far too often organizations want to rush through this process, in hopes of making things sound easy, only to run into trouble years later. #Fundraising #TrustMe #CapitalCampaign #Nonprofit
