LPTM's Treehouse class consists of our very smallest Apprentices - boys from ages 3 - 4 years old! It's important to build their math and literacy skills when they're young, and these little scholars are up for the challenge. (Photo credit: Seneca Wells)

We all enter life as a blank canvas. With love, security, and expression, we can each become a masterpiece.
About us
Founded in 1996, Life Pieces To Masterpieces is a year-round out-of-school-time organization that uses artistic expression to develop character and leadership, unlock innate potential, and prepare African American boys and young men to transform their lives and communities. Our vision is that LPTM gentlemen will be catalysts for positive change in their communities and the world. Life Pieces was the first arts-based program in the nation specifically geared toward African American boys (starting as young as age 3 & extending to young adulthood) and has been going strong for 25 years, impacting the lives of more than 2,000 young men.

Saturday Academy (LPTM's weekend program for teenage boys) has officially kicked off for the 2024 - 2025 school year! One of the things the young men did in an early session was to plan and write down their long-term goals. They also did workshops on time management and other important life skills. Many of these young men have been with LPTM since they were small. It's been so exciting to see them grow up into the amazing gentlemen they are today - and we can't wait to see them grow and learn even more in this year's Saturday Academy! Many thanks to The George Washington University for providing us with the space to have this critical programming for our LPTM teens! (Photo credit: Seneca Wells)

We're excited to have Saturday Academy participate in Families4Families tomorrow! Saturday Academy is LPTM's program for Black and Brown teenage boys. Many of this year's participants grew up in Life Pieces and know our culture like the backs of their hands! Here we see longtime LPTM gentlemen showing our newer participants how to do our classic Four Cs. For those who don't know, LPTM's Four Cs are "Connect, Create, Contribute, Celebrate!"
