    Harrison Street is excited to announce the successful sale of a nearly $900 Million U.S. student housing portfolio. The portfolio spans eight Harrison Street funds across 13 universities and 11 states throughout the U.S. and comprises over 8,700 beds located near leading universities including the University of Arkansas, Texas A&M and University of Missouri. “Dynamics such as demand for in-person learning after the pandemic have helped the student housing market," Ben Mohns, Harrison Street’s Head of Asset Management in North America said in a statement with Bloomberg. “The complexity of this portfolio disposition demonstrates not only the heightened demand for student housing, but also our extensive experience of acquiring and developing individual assets at leading universities, enhancing operational performance, and executing on portfolio sales at scale,” said Christopher Merrill, Harrison Street's Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO. “Harrison Street remains poised to capitalize on the growing demand for alternative real estate and deliver exceptional value to our investors.”    Read the full Bloomberg announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gk3KvETF    #HarrisonStreet #AlternativeRealAssets #StudentHousing

    Harrison Street’s Canada Alternative Real Estate Fund was recently recognized as a Real Estate Sector Leader in two categories, Regional Sector Leader (Americas, Diversified) and Regional Non-Listed Sector Leader (Americas, Diversified) among all Canada core diversified funds evaluated by the 2024 Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB)*. GRESB Sector Leaders are the best performers by sector, region and nature of ownership from across the GRESB Assessments. Launched in August 2021, Harrison Street’s Canada Alternative Real Estate Fund is an open-end fund designed to provide investments in stabilized, cash-flow producing real estate with demographic-driven demand across Canada. It aims to invest in high-quality senior living, student housing, medical office, life sciences, storage, and digital real estate assets.     Harrison Street is excited to announce the successful sale of three senior living communities to The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. The three properties consist of 635-units and are located in, Arizona, Tennessee, and Missouri. "The successful sale of these properties highlights the ongoing investor interest in gaining exposure to high-quality senior living assets at a time when there are few institutional quality portfolios in the market and new construction is at a 10-year low,” said Ben Mohns, Head of Asset Management - North America at Harrison Street. “We are committed to working with partners to develop top-tier senior housing communities that address the evolving needs of our aging population, and then identify the optimal time to engage in portfolio sales to generate liquidity on behalf of our investors." Since its inception in 2005, Harrison Street has invested over $14.5 billion across over approximately 43,000 units in senior housing and currently ranks as one of the top five owners in the United States. The Class A medical outpatient building serves as an essential healthcare hub in Northern Colorado Springs, anchoring a growing submarket in the region. “We are excited to collaborate with MedCraft Healthcare Real Estate on this acquisition of Sisters Grove Medical Pavilion, drawing on our decades of experience building strong portfolios,” said Mark Burkemper, Senior Managing Director and Head of Transactions – North America at Harrison Street.     Harrison Street and partner Gracorp (Graham Group Ltd.) is excited to announce a new student housing development near the University of Calgary. This 645-bed community is less than 300 metres from campus and is positioned to help students in what is considered one of the tightest residential rental markets in the country. “We are thrilled to expand our presence at the University of Calgary and look forward to continuing to provide much needed purpose-built student housing to the market,” said Jonathan Turnbull, Head of Canada for Harrison Street. “The University District has become one of the premier communities in Calgary and we believe this investment will be a welcome addition for students looking to live near the university and be surrounded by fantastic community amenities.
