🎉Marking another milestone in the process of supporting Kosovo institutions with the simplification and digitalization of public services 🇪🇺🇩🇪🇽🇰 With EU and Germany's support, the Kosovo Cadastral Agency has launched the Electronic System for Licensing of Surveyors and Surveying Companies, making licensing applications easier and faster. Now, candidates can apply, pay, and track their progress online with just a few clicks. This electronic system also simplifies work for officials, streamlining approvals and making the entire process faster and more efficient for everyone involved. With the support of the Agency for Information Society, once the call for application is open all interested candidates can access this service via #eKosova. This achievement is part of a broader initiative to support Kosovo institutions in simplifying and digitizing public services, co-financed by the EU and Germany and implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Strategic Planning Office under the Office of the Prime Minister.

🌍 Over 100 participants from around the globe joined an inspiring WALKshop as part of #TransportWeek24, diving into the theme: "Sustainable Urban Mobility Systems Going Net-Zero: Insights from the Western Balkans" 🌱organised by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Our WALKshop kicked off with a powerful question: "Who owns public space in the WB?" 🚶♂️🚶♀️🔍 Municipality partners in Belgrade, Podgorica, Pristina, Sarajevo, Ohrid, and Tirana led us on a virtual "walk" through their cities, showcasing sustainable urban mobility innovations live. Moderator Haris E. Bilalovic set the tone: "We’re not just talking the talk, but walking the walk." 🚶♀️💬 🌟 Highlights from the WALKshop: Belgrade - Jelena Davidovic from the City of Belgrade - Secretariat of Transport introduced us to the "From Cars to Pedestrians" initiative in Strahinjica Bana Street, reclaiming public space for pedestrians. She stated "What was once packed with parked cars is now a vibrant public space, where pedestrians rule!" 🚶🚗 Podgorica - Marija Kljajić from the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro walked through Bemax Park, a beloved green space, now linked to the city centre and public transport line by 2 km of new bike lanes, promoting a more accessible lifestyle. 🚲🌳 Pristina - Gent Sejdiu from Municipality Pristina presented the first solar parking facility at Germia Park which cuts 44.7 tons of CO2 emissions annually! Sustainable Sarajevo Tirana - In a city transformation project, streets were renovated to prioritise pedestrians, creating 20 km/h zones and widened sidewalks for safer routes near schools and kindergartens, presented Marsida Lena, from the City of Tirana. 🛣️👫 Ohrid - Renovated pathways now connect pedestrians and cyclists to Ohrid’s historic town and port, enriching public spaces that honour the city’s heritage. 🏛️🚶♂️presented Zdravko Petreski from the City of Ohrid. 💡 Inspiring Presentation by Milenka Mila Knezevic took us on a journey to the future, sharing an exciting vision for the WB Transport Museum. Her message was clear: “Our virtual walking tour through WB cities enabled us to explore urban mobility improvements marking historical moments in #ConnectingTheDots." 🚆 🌱 🔗 Final Takeaways by Armin Wagner: It’s inspiring to witness these cities opening spaces for people, not just cars. Our next challenge? To scale these models and make them the new normal across the Western Balkans. 🏙️✨ Let’s keep the momentum going and #ReshapeOurCities for a sustainable, people-first future! 🙌
