Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
About us
Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy. Our comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. These positive outcomes are achieved through three core elements: people - trained staff and volunteers who build lasting, mentoring relationships; environment - girls-only, physically and emotionally safe, where there is a sisterhood of support, high expectations, and mutual respect; and programming - research-based, hands-on and minds-on, age-appropriate, meeting the needs of todayâs girls. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls.

Girls Inc. is grateful for partners like West Fraser a global wood products company, who go above and beyond in their support of our organization. Volunteers from West Fraser donated wood building materials and updated an outdoor playhouse for Girls Inc. of Columbus&Phenix-Russell. Once rundown, the playhouse is now a functional and beautiful space where girls can let their imaginations run free! #strongsmartbold

The US Government Accountability Office released a report that examined discipline disparities among girls in public schools. Among girls, Black girls faced more and harsher forms of discipline than others. Girls Inc. was able to support the development of this important research. Discriminatory and subjective discipline makes girls feel unsafe at school, and increases the likelihood they will drop out early. All girls deserve to feel welcome at school and achieve their full potential. Check out the article here:Â https://lnkd.in/e3jKF4bE
