G-77 Vienna Chapter

International Affairs

The Vienna Chapter coordinates the work of the G-77 throughout all the Vienna-based organizations.

About us

The Group of 77 is the largest intergovernmental organization of developing countries within the United Nations, designed to promote its members’ collective economic interests and to create an enhanced joint negotiating capacity. The organization has expanded to 134 member countries. Since its inception in 1998, the Vienna Chapter of the G-77 has been serving as an effective platform for developing countries to facilitate their engagement with the Vienna-based organizations (UNIDO, IAEA, UNODC, UNOOSA, UNCITRAL and CTBTO). Here, developing countries speak with one voice on issues of common concern to them and thus protect their collective interests.
