In Case You Missed It: CREW Dallas welcomed our October keynote speaker, Tony Shidid, Chair of the Dallas City Plan Commission (CPC) and Partner at Tessa investments Inc. The discussion was moderated by Eliza Solender, President of Solender/Hall and Director of Origin Bank Corp. During our monthly industry luncheon, our membership learned about the inner workings of the CPC, Mr. Shidid’s personal experiences since being appointed in 2013, challenges and how to navigate the zoning process, parking in Dallas, and how CREW Dallas members can be in similar leadership positions in order to be decision makers in Dallas. Thank you, Tony and Eliza for a fantastic luncheon! Up next, for the Wednesday, November 20th luncheon, we will hear from Ray Washburne, Chairman of the Board of Sunoco LLC, President of HP Village Management, and President of Charter Holdings, on his journey in real estate, his current holdings, and his future plans!

We had a blast last week at our annual CREW Careers® Development Competition with an incredible group of Dallas ISD Career and Technical Education Dallas ISD students. We toured the various properties within the HALL Arts development, followed by a working session where each group of students created a business plan for a potential new mixed-use project. It's inspiring to see the incredible talent within these future young professionals. Thank you to our amazing sponsors Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Ryan Foundation, HOK, Locke Lord LLP, and Amazon; thank you Jackson Walker LLP for allowing us to utilize your beautiful space; and thank you HALL Group for providing educational tours! #MeetLearnHelp
