First, showcase relevant experience, even from a different field, and connect it to your coaching skills. Clients trust coaches who truly understand and value them. Tailor your approach to meet individual needs and demonstrate your genuine commitment to their success. Establishing trust and credibility comes from delivering consistent results. You can track your clients' progress and celebrate their victories publicly, with their consent. Success stories will drive your coaching business forward.

Building trust as a coach goes beyond showcasing expertise and transparency. For me, the foundation lies in being authentic and empathetic. I prioritise understanding my clients' unique needs and fostering open communication to ensure they feel heard and supported. Additionally, I emphasise continuous self-improvement, not just for professional growth, but to stay adaptable to each clientâs evolving challenges. By showing up consistently, listening attentively, and being genuinely invested in their success, I create a relationship of mutual respect and trust.

Listen, listen and listen some more. Donât assume because you have supported someone with a similar profile before that they have the same barriers or experience. Approach them with professional curiosity, empathy and respect. Show up⦠not just on day one but every day after. If you agree to an action take it, if you agree to an appointment time try not to change it - respect the individuals time. Keep learning, lots of professional development, read up on things discussed so you can go back with more information or understanding. Remember these individuals may have been let down before so you may be starting from a more difficult place to gain trust so you will need to work harder! When done right itâs the best feeling in the world
