Trust is the foundation for great leadership. If your team is questioning your leadership, it is always a trust issue. They donât trust you, your competence, your decision-making, your vision of the future or your ability to take care of them and their best interests. You need to immediately respond with sustainable strategies. It is always easier to replace the leader than the team...sooo Focus on the critical few.
Lead by Example by demonstrating integrity and consistency in your words and actions.
Have Open and Transparent Communication by regularly sharing information about the organizationâs challenges, and successes.
Show Empathy and Understanding by actively listening to (and acting on) team membersâ concerns and issues.

As a leader, I value transparency and continuous improvement. I recognize that questioning my leadership style is an opportunity for growth. I will facilitate an open forum for discussion, encouraging team members to share specific concerns and suggestions. By actively listening, I aim to understand their perspectives and adapt my approach where necessary. Additionally, I will highlight the importance of collaboration and shared goals, reinforcing that our collective success relies on mutual trust and respect. Together, we'll foster a more inclusive and effective work environment.

Embrace the feedback as an opportunity for growth. In my experience, the first step is to listen without defensivenessâschedule a meeting where team members can share their thoughts openly. Acknowledge their concerns and ask clarifying questions to fully understand their perspective. Reflect on their input, and be transparent about the changes you are willing (and unwilling!) to make. I found that small, visible adjustmentsâlike improving communication or offering more autonomyâcan rebuild trust. Demonstrating that you value their feedback strengthens the team dynamic.
