Engage with your clients about their thoughts on the coaching process and explore if thereâs a time or format that would better meet their needs. Additionally, consider discussing any challenges they might be experiencing. Together, you can brainstorm strategies that could make their participation more manageable. This collaborative approach promotes open dialogue and enhances the overall coaching experience.

In my coaching practice, I prioritize having an honest conversation with clients who consistently miss sessions. I invite them to share openly about the real reasons behind the missed appointments, as understanding these can be crucial for us both. Together, we explore any challenges they're facing and work to rekindle their motivation. My goal is to help them see the importance of prioritizing themselves and their personal growth, fostering a commitment that genuinely comes from within.

When a client misses appointments in my coaching practice, I address it by first reaching out to understand any underlying issues or scheduling conflicts. I emphasize the importance of consistency for their progress and work collaboratively to find a more suitable time if needed. I also set clear expectations about the impact of missed sessions on their goals. To prevent future occurrences, I send reminders and offer flexible scheduling options. By maintaining open communication and showing empathy, I aim to reinforce the value of our sessions and keep the client engaged in their development journey.

I'll make sure to understand "why" my client is missing coaching sessions. I'll remind them how important consistency is for achieving their desired outcome. I'll show them that I'm always here to support their journey "if" they are willing to make a difference in their lives. Coaching is a co-creation, and I can't be there for them if they're not making the effort. Lastly, I'll offer to jump on a quick call to review the coaching process, remind them of the journey, and explore what they want to do next.

In my practice of working with legal & finance professionals, my clients' time can be consumed by current deals, their own clients they have to work with etc. As understanding you can be as a coach, you also have to let them know that you would be doing them a great disservice if they were to miss their coaching sessions, and as a result, miss out on your plan for their progress. This is also a good time to take out your notes as to why they have decided to work with you in the first place and how close they think they are to their own goals.
