When your strategy clashes with market trends, do you fight the wave or learn to surf?
First, assess: is this a temporary trend or a long-term shift?
Ignoring it might be like trying to sell flip phones in a smartphone world.
Flexibility is keyâcan you pivot without losing your core?
Use data: are customers signaling something you missed?
Test small tweaksâwhy gamble the whole strategy when you can make gradual adjustments?
And communicate with your teamâwho has better ideas than the people in the trenches?
At the end of the day, isn't adapting to change how the best businesses survive?

Whether you want to follow the trend and change your offerings or stick to the same depends on the niche you have created, the unique value proposition you're providing to a specific segment who have been loyal to your product or service, and the feedback they have given on what you are offering. It is not advisable to jump the bandwagon and blindly follow the trend. At the same time, it's also not prudent to not modify or adjust your approach if things are sliding down. Therefore, one has to be agile, adaptive, attentive and flexible. It will need careful observation of both the external situations as well as internal trends (reduction in customer base, lower revenue, not so pleasant feedback etc.) to make the right decisions.

Sometimes, you hit a roadblock with your business, just like how a GPS reroutes you when thereâs traffic ahead. Thatâs when you rethink what youâre offering; does it still make sense for your customers?
Keep a close eye on market trends, kind of like checking the weather before a trip, and be ready to change course fast, without losing sight of your main goal. Whatâs worked for me is talking to customers directly and testing small changes until something clicks.
For example, Iâve seen businesses successfully adapt by launching new services quickly when customer needs shifted.
