As a coach, it´s very important that you understand what kind of people you are most able to help. Coaching is a broad and diverse area, and eventhough you might be qualified to help many different people in different scenarios, there´ll be for sure some types of situation that you feel more eager and prepared to help, so maybe in the beginning of you career you won´t be so sure, and you should try different people and cases but with time, I believe you´ll start leaning towards something more specific, if you are still undecisive, I advise you to keep going, the experiences will shed some light on this and you will refine your path!

Coaching is based on trust. When you work in an area where you feel comfortable, your clients feel it. Also, different work cultures can have a big impact on whether you are recognized as a coach. A background in non-profit organizations is different from having experience at a publicly traded company. The clearer you can communicate about values in your niche, the better.

It is a common mistake to think that the more I turn to get a bigger target, the more customers I will have. Or will I have more influence. On the contrary. What you focus on grows. So the more we focus on a certain target audience, the more we will become experts and in demand in this particular niche. And we have a great chance to realize our strengths more, feel more satisfied and influence and give and receive more value.

It all depends on your area of 'expertise'. You have to ask yourself the questions: Which category of people would be served best in my area of expertise? What topics can I teach them based on my expertise? Can I add value to their existing knowledge?

Some of the things worth considering while finalising your coaching niche include : 1. Passion for the topic ( this will determine whether you create something to sustain your interest in the longer run) 2. What problem are you trying to solve in the market? 3. Which set of population are you catering to ?( home-makers/ working professionals/ students) 4. Is there potential in this market ? Is there a real need ? 5. Does your target market have the buying potential? These are definitely some pointers but not exhausive!

There is probably a reason you did the coaching certification in the first place. Why was that, what was your catalyst? This is already a unique perspective, that you have and now can share with potential clients. Embrace your first WHY!

One very good tool that I like to use is called the Empathy Map, that tool is a marketing tool and it helps you see things through your clients perspective of life and it makes you really understand how they feel, what they hear, what they say, it´s a great exercise and it will give you many insights to build better communication about their pain points and how you can help them!

Building community is one of the sure ways to communicate effectively to your coaching niche. This may not be an overnight process, but the seeds once sown and nurtured with constant communication will build a strong community in the longer run..

Adapt, refine, and improve. - Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and training. - Offer Value: Prioritize client transformation and success.

Offering value to your target audience in any form will ultimately help in growing your coaching niche. Offer value, and more value without initially expecting anything in return. Ultimately, you will see a loyal following for yourself.

Make sure that as a coach you keep your judgements and opinions aside and focus more on the powerful questions that you can ask your coachees. Remember that you are there to help them find the answers they need and not give your opinion about where you think they should be going.
