Implementing SEL requires a clear definition and understanding of it's significance. These concepts are multifaceted and can vary in interpretation and application based on the learners' and educators' goals, needs, and preferences. Without a shared understanding of SEL and their connections to learning outcomes, curriculum, and assessment, it becomes challenging to design and implement effective activities and interventions. Hence, we must establish a common language and framework for SEL that aligns with our context. This will enable us to effectively communicate the benefits and expectations to all stakeholders involved. Em relação a integração, minha experiência convida a experimentar diferentes maneira de integrar dependendo da cultura e planejamento pedagógico. Já passei por três diferentes integrações entre os componentes cognitivos com os conteúdos socioemocionais. 1 - Inicialmente criou-se um componente socioemocional separado dos demais componentes para sentir adesão do grupo pedagógico e dos estudantes.

2 - Criou-se um traço socioemocional em um componente curricular regular. Por exemplo, uma professor de história juntamente com o professor conhecedor de educação socioemocional numa aula falando sobre os 3 poderes (judiciário, legislativo e executivo). Foi promovida uma dinâmica que exercitava as habilidades socioemocionais (comunicação e gestão de conflitos - nesse exemplo) juntamente com a explicação teórica do tema

3 - Foram identificados professores entusiastas na promoção de componentes socioemocionais em sala de aula e fornecida capacitação de pontos-chave para serem incorporados no tema da aula Não há uma maneira correta! É preciso fazer uma leitura de cenário para identificar o melhor método de integração.

A avaliação 360 graus tem tido sucesso na avaliação! Os alunos avaliam os próprios alunos em habilidades, somados a testes externos e autoavaliação. Por exemplo, depois da entrega de um projeto para avaliar criatividade, o estudante se autoavalia, é avaliado pelos seu colegas de grupo e faz uma avaliação de mercado para essa habilidade. Se ele se reconheceu como criativo, o outro o reconheceu como criativo e o teste externo também deu criativo é muito provável que essa pessoa seja criativa

Another thought that comes to mind when reading this piece may sound silly but I feel after 4+ years of teaching SEL to both kids and adults in various settings, there can be an additional barrier when it comes to the language we use when passing on this knowledge and how the overuse of some words and phrases can render them meaningless and/or be considered “fluff” or nonsense. Meaning, some of the words we use when teaching SEL are mocked or used inappropriately in society which ultimately causes some children to brush the information off or be unwilling to process or put into practice. I feel it’s important to take the time to define and relate these to the students life and experiences.
