I have found that it is generally easier to start with describing the problem or opportunity before getting into the detail of any particular solution. This helps the person you are selling to to be able to relate to the outcomes that they are responsible for. As example, if you are intending to use GenAI to assist with migrating from a heritage/OPH warehouse to Cloud, it doesn't make sense to start by describing the LLM you intend to use or the compute that is needed. You will make more sense to your leaders by describing the need to effectively document the use cases and the data flows, and that there are AI-based tools that can help do this faster and more cheaply. The harder part of the sell is in describing whether you are AI ready

Simplifying is always the first way. Try to make yourself understood. Let's say you have to use a Data Argumentation with your boss =P. Sometimes demonstrating a use case or functional prototype is a good point to clarify the core of the situation. Generally, bosses like demonstration and explanation situations more and staying too much in the world of ideas can be redundant or verbose.

How will what you're doing in AI affect those things? That mindset will go a long way.
