In my 42 year career I have learned that when you stop learning, you get left behind. Keep learning keep your sword sharp, stay ahead of the curve, climb new mountains. There is always a new mountain to climb. Doing so will give you every opportunity regardless of economic changes.

As a lifelong learner, I am always engaging in ways to enhance my skills and knowledge. In addition to taking online courses (some of them for free), I try to attend as many free webinars as I can. I also read or listen to books on topics or areas I want to grow in. You can develop your skills with out spending a lot of money. I also set alerts for news article on whatever topic I want to learn about so I get the latest information.

I teach my clients to always have a plan that is versatile and easy to pivot as times and circumstances change, and they do, more often these days.

Be visible in as many organizations as you can. You never know when and where you are going to meet your next million dollar client. Don’t be bashful about letting others know what your occupation and passion is. In my 42 years in practice I have been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Lions International, Rotary International, local Chamber of Commerce, Professional Leads clubs, to name a few. Be active, Be visible, Be proud, it will pay big dividends in the end.

Attitude is everything! This too shall pass, as it always has. Know what you know and share that with others. Everyone is looking for that positive person in the crowd to follow, be that person for them.
