It's important to know your strengths as an emcee. Can you adlib on the fly if a curve ball is thrown into the gig? What industry is your 'fit' fir an emcee gig?

This is so important. If you can't hire your own photographer, make sure you talk with the photographers at the event and with the event organizers to get some high quality pictures of you hosting the event. Build a nice and simple powerpoint presentation with 3 or 4 pages outlining: 1 - Who are you? 2 - Recent clients you had (you can simply add their logos) 3 - Products/types of presentation you're offering (1 or 2 sentences/bullet points for each product) 4 - High quality photos of you at work. Don't forget to add links to your social media pages. This will give you a 1MB pdf that you can easily share on an email and it will look professional.

One of the most impactful (and simple!) elements to networking as an Emcee is to simply let people know you are available for other events - I can't remember how many people over the year were pleasantly surprised to learn I was available outside of the current event. Put yourself out there!

Rule of thumb for me is: for every gig I get, I need to convert it into at least one more gig. Meaning that I'll be as professional as I can and create as much impact as I can to really make that audience remember my work and think of me next time they need an event for their company or their friends' companies. You never know who's watching. I always like to mingle after the show/presentation in order to meet the audience and listen to what they have to say about the event. More often than not they'll remember you and recommend you next time someone needs an emcee.

You have to sell yourself when it comes to promoting your skills. Confidence is an indicator you know how to lead an event as an emcee.

Also, try to film/record every single event you perform at. Learn to be self-critical and pay close attention to your posture and your speech. Most of us tend to repeat certain words or gestures/mannerisms while we're speaking. It takes a good amount of time to be aware of it and to correct it.
