Embracing reality only possible if we have objective data combined with intelligence and desire to learn from it. Although it sounds logical, in reality, it is a rare combination. As Ray Dalio said, pain+reflection=progress. There is a lot of pain going around, not that much reflection therefore there is not much progress. Complaining and blaming others are not constructive versions of the process of reflection, even though they can be a good starting point as most people do not change until something hurts enough. Pain and failure can be the catalyst we never wanted but we really needed...

Looking at failure as opportunity is the aftermath when as a leader it is to embrace failure. When you embrace failure as an opportunity, it is no more a failure rather it is an opportunity to use it to fuel personal and professional development. It can become a valuable learning experience by conducting a comprehensive post-mortem analysis to identify the root causes of the project's shortcomings, including inadequate risk assessment and communication breakdowns within the team encouraging positive changes in a person's leadership styles and project management approach.

How Should You React to Failure? • Be realistic. If you demand perfection of yourself, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. • Don’t take failure personally. Making a mistake doesn’t make you a failure. It’s simply a reminder that you’re human. • Accept responsibility. Nothing positive is ever gained by scapegoating. • Don’t tear yourself down for failing. You don’t speak to others that way, so give yourself a break. • Get back on the horse. Don’t wallow in self-pity. You cannot change the past, but you can affect the future. • Take the time to reflect on your experience, learn from your mistakes, and adapt accordingly. • Don’t quit. As Douglas MacArthur said, “Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul.”

From a young age, we're taught to fear failure, seeing it as a sign of inadequacy. As an overachiever, I've spent my life running from failure until I became an entrepreneur. In the last few years, I've failed countless times. Despite not achieving a major goal in my current role, I've learned invaluable lessons along the way. Failing has become my new norm, but alongside it, so has growth. Viewing failure as a chance to learn and grow, rather than a setback, is key to real success. Stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing failure as part of the journey fosters genuine growth.

Seeking new inputs of learning out of failures will give you new beginnings and horizons to add on as a leader. Adaption to new beginnings will help you tread on new growth paths with inspiring stories to learn from. Seeking failures as new seeds of growth will help you to be resilient and it will give you a validation that you grew because you learn many ways to undo and rephrase.

Before you consider this to be a failure, redefine the term failure. Have you truly failed? Or is there a way you can pick yourself back up and move forwards? Learn from this perceived failure, reframe it as a lesson learned and grow from it.

Be sure to analyze, but don’t perseverate. Beating yourself up or rehashing old mistakes repeatedly may not be productive. Instead, look at where you could grow and learn from the experience by asking: -What would I do differently? -What information was unavailable then but is available now? -Was this preventable or out of your hands? After you analyze, remind yourself that you are doing the best that you can, and that to err is to be human.

Admit You’re Wrong … It’s the Right Thing to Do Some people don’t admit an error because it’s a blow to their ego. Others don’t admit their missteps because it’ll tarnish their image. The truth is, mistakes don’t define you…but the way you respond to them does. Sweeping wrongs under the rug or pretending they don’t exist doesn’t make you look good. When you admit a wrong, people know that you’re honest, humble, and authentic. Plus, it provides an opportunity to learn from it, make a course correction, and move on. As someone once said, “When you’re wrong, admit it. When you’re right, be quiet.” Mistakes are always forgivable. Ignoring them is not. Swallow your pride and turn a wrong into a right.

First, don't view it as a failure. Failure is a lack of success. When you learn from your challenges and setbacks, you are in the winning circle because you have more information than you did before. Take what you did well, celebrate that with verbal affirmations, and write it down. Take your learning lessons and implement actionable steps to address them. Avoid overworking yourself by trying to "fix" everything. Prioritize and be strategic. Give yourself easy "wins" as you continue.

When analyzing failure, it is important to show empathy. 1. Sense Your Feelings and Needs - Show Empathy to Yourself: Acknowledge any emotions such as disappointment, frustration, or self-doubt that may arise from the failure. Understanding these feelings allows you to address them constructively and set the foundation for effective communication with yourself and others. 2. Sense Others Feelings and Needs - Show Empathy to the Fullest: In addition to understanding your own emotions, it's crucial to demonstrate empathy towards others, especially those who may have been affected by the failure. This involves actively listening to their perspectives, concerns, and feelings. That's a mark of a true leader.

When mistakes are made, our actions shift from doing the right thing to covering our behinds; to pointing fingers rather than accepting personal responsibility; hiding errors rather than fixing them; allowing wasteful projects to linger rather than shutting them down; and letting small problems become big ones because they’re inadequately addressed. The time has come to view every mistake as an opportunity rather than a weakness. The truth is that there shouldn’t be shame in making a mistake. The disgrace should be in failing to admit, correct, and learn from it. The bottom line is that the difference between mediocrity and exponential personal growth is how you view your mistakes. Make no mistake about it!

It's not enough to recognize there was failure and move on, you need to figure out why the failure happened and what you can do to prevent it in the future. Set specific goals that speak to the actions you'll take or the behaviors you'll tweak. Go beyond something like "I'll improve my communication". <-- What does this mean? How will it show up in practice? What specifically are you going to start or stop doing?

To bounce back from failure and grow as a leader, adjust your strategies. Once you know why things went wrong, change how you lead. This could mean learning new skills, changing how you make decisions, or communicating differently with your team. Good leaders are flexible and can bounce back from setbacks. Adapting shows your team that you're willing to change and always trying to get better.

It's only failure if you don't learn from the lesson. I don't think we can fail at career growth unless we are outright complacent and stagnant. Always, ALWAYS maintain a growth mindset when it comes to your career. What you choose to do for a living is a big part of your brand, your mental and physical health, and your sense of pride. Failure is a part of success. If you feel like you have failed, analyze the failure. Answer these questions on paper: -WHY was it a failure? -WHAT would have made it a success? -LIST the gaps between them. -HOW will you fill those gaps and change your strategy for next time? Your failure has now turned into a Master Plan. We don't fail; we LEARN!

Flip the script on failure and consider the opportunity for connection and debriefing with colleagues and your team. Ask yourself what you would like to learn from the experience and seek direct feedback and suggestions from others. People are kind and smart and will no doubt help you to manage the fallout (however you define that) from the failure. Leadership is a team sport after all. There's no need to shoulder the burden alone.

To add, it is important to ask for regular and ongoing feedback from your team as you adopt new strategies and grow to ensure that you are on the right track. Continually checking in will also let them know that you care about the progress that you are making and that their support is helpful for you in your journey.

Resilience is key to succeed in business environment. As it does not count who ran away in the rain but it does for those who stay during the stormy weather. Hence, considering business life is cycled with ups and downs, resilience would sustain the team every time. However, resilience is not built overnight but it would be a lifelong journey in which you fail and stand up after setbacks. Having that rooted in mind, both individuals and team members would be able to succeed time after time.

Successful people aren’t discouraged by failure. They know that every goal carries an element of disappointment. Failure is a challenge to be overcome, a test to defy your will, and in the end, a learning opportunity. For others, failure is viewed as an opportunity to feel sorry and complain, a reason to belittle oneself, and an excuse to give up too quickly. The difference between a stepping-stone and a stumbling block is the way in which you approach it. Failing can be a great teacher, make you stronger, and keep you grounded, or it can be the cause of your demise. Your view of failure determines your reality. As Zig Ziglar said, “Remember that failure is an event, not a person.” You’re not a failure unless you make yourself one.

RESILIENCE is your best friend - that's it. Embrace it and keep thriving through it all . People will reject you, say negative things to break you down - I changed a lot . I changed the people around me which helped further ignite my passion to keep thriving. Block haters, be immune to baseless critics, be immune to bullies. Focus on your core - be resilient , be strong not interms of muscles but strong in term of your mentality, attitude and keep thriving . No one can take away your birthright to success.

To bounce back from failure and grow as a leader, inspire others with your story. Tell your team what you learned from your mistakes and how you've improved. Being open about your failures makes you more relatable and shows others that setbacks can lead to growth. When you lead by example, you show that resilience is important and that failures can make you stronger. This creates a culture where people aren't afraid to fail and see setbacks as chances to get better.

How do you approach life? Do you say the sky’s the limit or do you limit your potential? Some people continually put themselves down, think people like them don’t stand a chance, or believe that the world isn’t fair. In essence, they put their energy into lowering the bar, covering their behind, and making excuses for things that didn’t even happen yet. And then, when their defeatist attitude turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy, they get angry and resentful. Believing in yourself is half the story. The other half requires hard work, commitment, and sacrifice. As Les Brown, the motivational speaker, said, “The only limits to the possibilities in your life tomorrow are the buts you use today.” Your mindset matters more than you think.

We’ve heard a lot of success stories of remarkable leaders and people in history. They looked for the silver lining that arose from their failures, instead of taking the road to self-pity and downfall. They opted to reflect on their learnings, seize the opportunity to grow, bounce back , stay resilient and lived to share their inspiring story, offering support to those who go through the same painful path they used to thread.

Share your stories of failure. The process of telling your story is a learning mechanism to help you reflect on what you've learned, and it's also an opportunity for you to be authentic and inspire others to take risks and share the moments that are rocky.

Even though I didn't receive the support I needed when I faced struggles, I've made it my mission to provide assistance to others who may be going through similar challenges. My own experiences have taught me the value of support and community, and I recognize the significant impact it can have on someone's journey. By supporting various communities, I aim to fill the gaps I encountered in my own life and ensure that others have the resources and encouragement they need to overcome their obstacles. It's my way of paying it forward and creating a more compassionate and understanding world.

Life is one big experiment, and we learn through all of our experiences, especially the ones that don't go so well. Leaders would do well to get comfortable with so called failures by intentionally learning from them. In this way, they model to those around them how to deal with setbacks.

When you shift your mindset from failure to opportunity to learning, you increase your capacity to succeed and adopt the mindset that you have not failed; you are simply learning. This is the mindset that propels your career.

Perhaps it is harsh, but sometimes you need to honestly consider whether you are the right kind of leader for the role you have been given. This recognition can allow you to identify the resources and talents you have in the people you lead. Then delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members who can meet your needs in your role. Just as importantly, you are cultivating new leaders and providing people opportunities to grow with you.

Growth happens through failure. Instead of avoiding situations that may result in failure, seek them out. I stand by the saying: Fail often, fail fast.
