One key way we manage this in my teams is with ADLs for our leader meetings. I appreciate my teams open discussion and appreciation of ideas, and at some point we have to translate that into action. Having next steps, action items, due dates in a shared document, keeps us aligned. It's also important to ask for questions before resolving any issue, and restate the decision. This gives the team a chance to align. Most importantly, pay attention to how you communicate. I frequently find myself with 3 ideas coming out of my mouth at once. Take a beat to organize your thoughts into the correct topic at hand before continuing.

First, forget about prowess. This is not about you, it’s about the people you support, motivate and enable. Second, listen to your team. Given clear vision, goal, ownership and space, they will grow and help you grow too. Third, recognize them for successes and take responsibility yourself for failures. Accountability is a good teacher.
