That changed when I reached a state of burnout and was at a point of hating my job and dreaded any notification from my phone or computer. It took some time to convince the management team, but refusing to check my email or read that text from a client at 8 pm eventually gave me the time needed to unwind and break from the work mindset, leading to less stress and a more balanced personal life. The result was not what management expected, happier clients, more production and better project metrics.
