This shows why you need to change the deadline and why it's to the client's benefit to change. It's always important to explain what's in it for the client. It's easier to negotiate when the benefit to them is clearly stated (better quality work, or whatever the reason might be for the change.) Make sure that your plan is reasonable before you bring it to the client. The last thing you want is to have to change the timeline once again!
