Focus your energy on building connection and trust with your team. This is the foundation of good leadership. Ask your skeptical team member what type of leadership approach brings out their best. How do they like to receive and provide feedback? What is the best delegation process to use to ensure confidence and comfort? What are their career goals and desires and unique strengths? Show your commitment by investing time and energy into getting to know them and learning how to bring out their best. Then put this into action by being flexible in your leadership approach to bring it home. Your leadership approach should never be static and unchanging, but rather flexible to adapt to the unique needs of your team. That is true leadership.
