As some one who has done this twice and works with career professhionals every day I have learnt that these key prinicipals matter: Validate you idea with research and real feedback. Know you numbers - how long will it take to hit the revenue you need to be successfull. Be aligned with you values and purpose - If you do soem thing just for hte money it easy to quite when its hard, but if you are building something that is aligned ot your values and purpose it will be easier to stay on track through the tough times and ultimately feel so much more fulfilling. Last month I was approached by a young MBA (+2 years exp) planning to start his business & was ready to put in funds from his savings & his friend's savings. When I asked him mutiple questions about logistics and operations, he was not sure about it & I gave him insights on what he should think and prepare before taking the leap. Suggestion here is, Business plan with end-to-end planning (theoretical) will always be helpful & consulting people whom you trust is always a good idea & let them figure out flaws in your business plan so that you can plug the leak before it actually leaks. As they say, sweat more on ground, rather than bleeding in war! Spending money wisely while bootstrapping is key!
