Depending on the work being done by the mechanics a simple checklist by the QC engineer can be made with valuable checkpoints listed to ensure that the mechanics can have an easy and effective operation when maintaining quality.

Understanding Requirements:
Verify Specifications: Ensure all product specifications and customer requirements are clearly defined and understood.
Regulatory Compliance: Check for compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, FDA).
Confirm that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place and followed consistently.

The type of work matters, but a detailed but simplified checklist could ease the frustration of mechanics with constant training to update skills and also knowledge of how to use the checklist to achieve the quality required for the job

Check list are only inspections for detection/ to get attribute or variable data. but if the product was properly launched with too good profitability, strong product and process design, all those check list should be focused on prevention and all those inspections should be absorbed on the part price don't get affecting the OEE.
