Managers can find onboarding time-consuming, but there are ways to streamline it and make it more efficient. In addition to the strategies mentioned, I've found that using a dedicated onboarding platform can help organize and track all of the necessary steps.
Also, providing new hires with a welcome packet that includes all the relevant information they need to get started can help reduce confusion and smooth the onboarding process.

While the onboarding process involves many teams across the organization, the direct manager holds the greatest responsibility. It's on them to create a meaningful and efficient experience for the new hire.
Preparation is keyâautomate what you can and personalize the rest. Make the experience about them, giving new hires the resources, support, and excitement they need to succeed and feel like valued contributors from day one.
