The more that is at stake (growth, risk, etc.), and the higher up in the organization the framework will be used (e.g. senior executives), the more you need to rely on a 'proven or trusted' framework. I love this framework, I have used this framework in many of my prior roles. Strategy does not always have to come from the CEO, each team should have their own strategy, that aligns to the CEOs. Executive leaders should have a mission, vision, etc that they can share with their team in order to align everyone to your “North Star”. This is a great way to build trust and vulnerability - ask for areas of risk in order to improve.

Create an avenue that allows people to: 1. Share on their level 2. In their own tone 3. Through their ability to communicate 4. Through their channel/platform 5. In their timeframe

1. Tell me about it (one great story). 2. Learn more about it (something to read or watch). 3. Help me adopt it (example or template). 4. Convince others (a successful case example). 5. Improve upon it (a feedback form).

The effective adaption of an executive management framework is not one-and-done and requires collaboration and periodic updates for continued relevance. The framework should incorporate the perspectives of stakeholders to whom value will be delivered (customers, employees, partners, etc). The framework should answer why, what, who, when and how for continued relevance in value delivery and preservation as internal and external conditions change.

The Executive Management Framework is built on vision, mission and strategy. Oftentimes organizations are built around the framework and fail to understand the interdependance to strategy. To build governance you need to start analyzing strategic goals and how to put them into action. A framework is the governing part of your operations. If might be easy to do so when you kick-start your business and it might take lots of efforts to reorganize your framework in your growth stage but the common denominator is always the strategy. Once it is fixed you would clearly communicate your framework in and out of your business. Stay alert for feedback and observe the market for adjustments if needed. It should be a living procedure.
