You need to carry out the risk assessment together with the job supervisor, this is because they know and understand the job a lot better than you do. When you ask questions during risk assessment, you end up discovering more hazards then you would have if you worked alone.

The application and purpose of every equipment should be communicated to every worker. Training workers on the use, limitation and care of their equipment will ensure better use of the equipment. After training, workers compliance can be monitored by occasional checkups, and also encouraging the workers and helping them to understand the purpose of the equipment.
