My rule of thumb is, I must have sufficient time to travel from event A to event B, and also have sufficient time to compose myself at event B before I go on stage. If the timing is not sufficient, it is best not to take the job, and risk being late. When you're late, you'll probably feel flustered and this might affect your performance on stage. Not worth it!

Balancing multiple emceeing gigs in a short timeframe requires strategic planning and adaptability. First, I meticulously organize my schedule, allocating specific time and focus for each event. This ensures no event is overlooked or underprepared. Next, I adapt my energy and presentation style to suit the unique atmosphere of each gig. It's important to resonate with different audiences effectively. Lastly, I make sure to include brief periods of rest between events. This downtime is essential for recharging and maintaining a high level of performance. With this approach, I'm able to deliver a captivating and professional experience at each event.

Planning is key and no two events are the same. So it is highly important that each event is treated as an independent event. I always tell clients that their event will be treated like my first event and not like the hundredth because then they can expect my enthusiasm and excitement! Keeping my content fresh at to the the liking of the audience is so important!

"Balancing multiple emcee gigs without compromising performance" only works when your assignments are in the "simple script + little background research" category. Otherwise, squeezing your calendar too much will be both unhealthy and, in some instances, unprofessional. Developing your event-specific (and industry-specific) onstage "persona" takes quality time, deep thinking and preparation. Even though having multiple opportunities to hone your craft is very important, great emcees are always careful about their work hygiene and natural, positive energy.

For me, no matter if it is my Corporate event, Training, Wedding reception or even a Key note, I do not have anything to eat while the event is on because people want to network or coordinate with me. However, I would have my warm water and occasional green tea. Ofcourse if there's a lunch break, I would network with the group and have a simple lunch without over eating. Normally when I get back home, I would just relax with music and family conversations to recharge, before a nice rest:)

Know Your Shows! Be familiar with the individual venues (parking and employee entrances especially). Know your material for the various gigs and try to have fun! Keep notes In your phone to help you and don’t be afraid to ask questions to refresh your memory when you get to the job! Remain calm, cool and collected and learn some improv ! Most of all just be in the moment at each gig. Remember they are paying YOU to run the show . You have to to come across as if you know everything about the event so do your homework ahead of time ! Have fun!!
