As I am dealing with Reggae and its consciousness, the songs have to be about what the government is doing or not doing and the people who are feeling lack of things, then you have something to add fuel to it and people will join your interest.

I'd say your song is ready to be critiqued at any stage, depending on the critic and their understanding of the song. This ensures they can provide constructive feedback that contributes to building the song up to its final form. While you're the pace-setter and original critic, guiding it from scratch to the full vision, it's beneficial to know precisely when to bring in well-experienced critics. They can give you the right push for an even better outcome. Regardless, you remain the constant with the responsibility of navigating your song to its destination.

It's essentially undefinable - but you get a feeling deep in your gut that you have "nailed it", your feeling (in that moment) is that it cannot be improved upon. Of course all too often you listen a week later and start listing things to do to improve it. But that's the nature of art, it's never finished, but at some point you have to let it go.

If your song/track is lyrical. The lyrics need to be strong and placed in such a way to create a visual experience. If you're writing about a life experience, choose lyrics that are relatable.

Who care about critique? If you move your head while listening to your songs and nothing about the mix or production bothers you...let´s go!

As far as structure is concerned, that depends who you're writing the music for. Some of the best and most memorable songs are simplistic and have melodies that stick in the mind. Does it have a flow? Does it have a hook 20 seconds into it? Does it build to a climax and have a resolution?

The music genre will play a crucial part when we talk about song structure. For example when we discuss Reggae and Blues, the hypnotic journey we will want to create with a track will be completely different from the experience we might want to taylor for a Pop song, and/or for a Dance piece. According to the music genre we will need to either create a lot of build up with a couple of verses and a pre-chorus, or go straight to the point and begin with the hook, and/or regularly switch between verse and chorus. The short attention spam experienced by so many of us nowadays is also reflected in song arrangements and duration. So, make sure the song structure matches the specific music industry branch you are targeting.

Make it something that is personal to you. Some of the greatest songs weren't written by chasing success, but about reflecting on your personal experience. It will be amazing to see how that can resonate with so many people once you touch their hearts. Your first critique should come from you the songwriter. Make it personal and don't worry if others don't get it because if it's great, they will.

In my experience, when you feel the song is ready to be heard, you let it be heard. Some people will love it & some will hate it. Art is subjective. In the end, you need to be happy with the piece. Things tend to sort themselves out from there.

A song is ready when you feel the passion to release it. Even if your lyrical divide, chorus-- hook drive needs a polish (because to you as the "artist" will always want to change it up) releasing projects to the "right" people. To add- jump on it... create a twist or vision application... movement-- creation .. Teamwork makes the dream work always!

Don’t try to be too “clever” or “wordy” The most remembered songs are simple lyrically but phenomenally sonically. Try rewriting your lines to fit a syncopated rhythm if rapping, and if singing avoid tongue twisters.

Song is ready when your critique says so..lol Live long that could take a long long time. Maybe I'm wrong maybe it's not about approval. Lmao Forget what they tell you and do what makes you happy. That will speak volumes on tape deck.

Well this is simple... always be writing. Once you leave a writing session doesn't mean you should stop writing. Write constantly and record it with your phone (people may look at you like you're out there but don't worry.. hopefully they will be humming the song you kept writing in the future). So yes, refine your melody.. yes polish your lyrics... but never stop writing... ever.
