I do dictation: read a 300 word news article with a variety of grammatical and word variance, and have the students copy what they hear. I only read it once, sentence by sentence. That gives me a good idea how much information in the target language they can process.

As an ESL teacher, I follow these steps to design my curriculum: I assess my students’ needs using surveys, tests, portfolios, etc; I define my learning outcomes based on their needs and goals; I select my content and materials from textbooks, online resources, multimedia, etc; I plan my activities and assessments using tasks, games, projects, quizzes, etc; I evaluate and revise my curriculum. I monitor my students’ progress and satisfaction throughout the course. I also reflect on my own teaching practice and effectiveness. I use different tools and methods to collect data for evaluation, such as rubrics, surveys, journals, or peer observations. By evaluating and revising my curriculum, I ensure its quality and relevance for my students.

Languages are inborne , a person always think and act in his mother tounge.Conveting this into English is a hard task. Listening,reading,writing, talking, pronouncing words correctly and thinking in English is necessary for a person living in non English country. People in non english country thinks in mother tounge and applied the same grammar style in english.Most languages, patteren of a sentence is not like SVO patteren.Fixing this is importent while making ESL curiculam. Common gramatic errores, conversation styles in different situations, Developing writing skills in fields like business letteres,news letteres, essays, short notes,conversations,etc is necessary.

Start from their experience! One of the best methods to form a rapport with ESL students is to have them talk about their country, culture, pop artists, and movies from their land. The relationship that teachers form with their students is so important to the learning outcomes. Besides that, giving informal assessments along with a standardized test report helps establish the ESL students' needs. That is where we as teachers understand how to begin! Pre-established knowledge can make or break a classroom. As a teacher, I ensure to take pre-assessment to gauge their known scientific concepts. Asking them warm-up questions is also a type of pre-assessment.

I agree with making learning related to everyday applications. In subjects that many students struggle with, the sciences and Maths, I have found that asking the students, " How does this help you in your life?" or "Can you think how this is relevant to your community?", helps them to apply their knowledge

It is important that we incorporate the exact skill sets while designing so that the expected outcome can be achieved. The outcomes should be based on different learning abilities. That means activities or concepts simplified for the slow learners too.

In my experience, materials play a key role in developing not only language skills but also the passion for the language. It is crucial to understand the students’ way of thinking and learning and help them add to that by creating great resources like short videos, interactive PowerPoint slides, online quizzes, games(online and offline). Providing them with continuous support and opportunities to excel in the learning process.

To effectively design a curriculum for ESL students on should do the following: ✓ Sound understanding of students' needs which is imperative for valuable content preparation for and ahead of each lessons ( content here should be detailed, relevant and up to date ) ✓ Next, method of delivery - ' presentation ' in teaching. Here, consider the age, cultural background of your learners, your choices of words, and acceptable norms of the society, especially of the country of residence to avoid conflict of ideas and achieve your teaching goals. ✓Lastly, quality assessments ( evaluation ) from time to time which should implore the use of various methods of teaching; storytelling method, field / outdoor activities and so on.

If you realise that your curriculum is not meeting your student's needs, it is important to adapt it. I have done this recently with mine, and while it means that there is more work for me, I have been able to see that my students have improved more then what I was doing previously.

In addition, culturally responsive teaching fosters positive teacher-student relationships and integrates social and emotional learning, promoting emotional well-being in the classroom.

Designing a curriculum is always attached with vision and mission set by performer institute. There are three levels viz. "Training" or "instruction" to perform specific functions. "Education" or "teaching" with a combination of theoretical and practical aspects to develop moderate independence under supervision. "Empowerment" or "competency development" to enable individuals to work independently and understand the system well enough to perform functions without external support. Designing requires numbers of factors in accordance with complying motive.

Aside from "chunking" up tasks (and presenting information visually - both text and images - AND aurally), I also intentionally pair students together so that all ESL students (and any other lower proficiency students) are seeing modeling and receiving feedback from the teacher as well as a "more-expert peer." Hearing two models and then sharing in a non-punitive forum first often adds clarity and builds confidence before any degree of independent practice takes place.

Based on my experience, family and peer support plays another important part in learning a new language. Many don’t have that support and their interest and progress will decline. Finding ways to get them onboard like: regular meetings, presenting the opportunities for their child, providing them with some type of support and guidance, and so on. Keeping the student motivated when his peers are not on the same page is just as valuable.
