Takes a lot of effort initially. Maintaining the right balance between Responsible Sourcing needs & Business priorities is key. Once your internal stakeholders see the results of your sincere efforts, then they also want to be part of the journey of transformation.

I believe that trying to get people to collaborate is the wrong approach. Instead, I'd teach systems thinking throughout the organization and create possibilities for collaboration through those efforts. As people gain an understanding of concepts like the benefits of optimizing for the whole, seeking out collaboration becomes natural. Also look at your incentive systems. You may be unintentionally discouraging collaboration via incentives that are aimed at departmental optimization, rather than broader aims.

Continuous learning is a dimension I would add. Understanding what sustainability is and how it applies to your area of work. Experimenting and testing to develop new lens to look at your work and to take your work related decisions. It is a path towards "every job is a sustainability job" and as departments connect so are all related sustainability initiatives - they just connect and challenge the way "things are done".

Consider your organizational hierarchy. Are there leaders above that bridge the involved departments? Ultimately we need buy in from the leaders, too. In some cases a grass roots movement coming from below will make most sense while some organizations will require a directive from above. This depends on the size of your organization and how it usually works. Identify stakeholders and get internal sponsors on board early on.
