Combining or adapting these methods can also be beneficial to suit your specific context and needs; for instance, you can use voting to narrow down options, consensus to finalize the decision, delegation to implement the decision, and consultation to monitor and evaluate the decision.

3 Engage diverse and representative voices

In order to ensure that all voices are heard and valued in democratic decision-making, it is necessary to identify and reach out to relevant stakeholders, such as community members, allies, partners, funders, policymakers, media, etc. Furthermore, it is essential to create a safe and welcoming space for dialogue, where people can express their opinions, experiences, and emotions without fear of judgment or discrimination.
