Cooking and heating are other sources, but waste heat also abound in cities – how can this be redirected to where it is needed. This systems approach is transformational – it addresses the underlying causes and finds innovative ways to dissolve issues and repurpose “wastes”. By reimagining our urban metabolism, we can create more sustainable, less polluted cities.

Additionally, in order to drive change, concepts and strategies for climate control, it is helpful to have supporting policies and legislation for a working framework and governance of the strategies. Lastly, integrating the strategies into education and schooling systems is also important, so that the general public is informed, while the future generation is being prepared well in advance.
