Research and implement assistive technology that can benefit kids with learning difficulties. This might include text-to-speech software, speech-to-text tools, or specialised educational apps. NEP 2020 has created short-term specialized courses to teach children with disabilities using the current framework. Teachers will have the opportunity to use alternative teaching materials based on the needs and requirements of pupils.

Students with learning disabilities during their study face difficulties often in many ways, like reading, writing, speaking, attention etc. So definitely first step to wards cope up with these disabilities for teacher who work with these students should know what student needs because every student have different disabilities, and for which conversation/ interview with not only with the specific student but also with the family members, parents & caregivers.

Vários fatores contribuem para o processo de aprendizagem: aspectos emocionais, aspectos biológicos e aspectos sociais. Quando alguém apresenta uma dificuldade de aprendizagem, é preciso primeiramente investigar o que pode estar causando essa dificuldade. A falta de foco, o comportamento inadequado, a falta de interesse, entre tantas outras queixas que observamos em sala de aula são os sintomas, porém precisamos entender a causa do problema. O primeiro passo que o professor deve ter é que a dificuldade não é uma condição fixa e que o aluno sempre tem o potencial de aprender e se desenvolver. Depois é buscar meios de avaliar e se preciso encaminhar para profissionais e a partir disso, criar estratégias para sanar essas dificuldades.

Sempre buscar a participação da turma, saindo do modelo meramente expositivo e tentando atingir o colaborativo, de discussões e debates. Além disso, para que haja precisão da foto dentro do processo de aprendizado, elaborar atividades práticas individuais e em grupos é de grande valia. Com a intercomunicação, a valorização das relações interpessoais e a instauração de um ambiente seguro e acolhedor, o aprimoramento conjunto é criado dentro de um ambiente harmonioso em que as pessoas se sentem à vontade para desenvolver suas potencialidades e a probabilidade de sucesso da ação é muito maior.

Presume competence, always. Non verbal does not equate to lack of learning ability for example. Take your cue from your student but remember their responses are not going to always be “typical”. A child giving full eye contact, sitting politely & saying “yes, I get it” may be masking, not learning a thing. A child roaming around whilst you teach, giving no eye contact may be absorbing every word. If they need their feet firmly on the ground, check the chair isn’t too high. If they want to learn in a dimly lit room, can’t tolerate noise, need to learn bouncing on a gym ball - what matters is giving them their greatest chance of success. Never underestimate how sensory overload can derail a student. Audio books are also a great asset.

I know that where I live, you absolutely shouldn't be saying learning disabilities anymore. Learning differences, not disabilities. So the terminology is a great place to start!

Never blame always reassure. It will get better. You can do it. It's easy for the disabled to lose heart. Aren't we all disabled in some way or other? Each one of us is no better or no worse than anybody else.

Discover their passion and use that as a vehicle to motivate their learning. If someone has a passion for cars learning inside one might just do the trick. The key is to combine anything positive with the learning experience to reinforce it.

Having taught stage fighting to students with special needs across the spectrum (and being the father of identical twins with Fragile X Syndrome), the first thing is to not be patronising. Secondly: clarity. A clear, repeated demonstration is not enough. What might seem a straightforward action must be broken down into the minutest detail and built up to the whole. The level of discipline and concentration is far higher than that of a standard class and often I’ve wanted to show my regular students the level of dedication applied by my special needs students. Remember…every achievement is a huge milestone. Lastly, know your subject inside and out, you cannot teach if you don’t know your subject from the roots to the finished product.

I'd have to say taking the time to build a rapport and connections with them to learn how they best learn and retain information so that you can cater to their learning style! It is also helpful to include brain breaks, consistent praise, and naming desired behaviors versus those undesired.

I think one of the huge barriers to learning is the fear of failure. It makes students somehow paralyzed. So the teacher must make a safe environment in class such that those students would not worry about failing. Then they can focus and try.

Una práctica que me ha resultado útil como docente virtual, es convocar a los estudiantes a una sesión sincrónica el primer día de clases. Durante la sesión comparto las normativas institucionales sobre acomodos razonables por si algún estudiante necesita apoyo adicional. Sin embargo, debido a que me aseguro de tomar en consideración todas las pautas de accesibilidad digital desde el diseño hasta la creación del curso, al momento no ha sido necesario ningún acomodo en particular. Por lo tanto, el considerar las pautas de accesibilidad digital desde la fase de planificación de un curso, es clave para brindar igualdad de oportunidades a toda la diversidad de estudiantes.

Get the elephant out of the room. Ask each person , in person, who has any type of special need, and simple ask, "How can I best help you?" Then shut up and listen. Communicate honest what you will and will not be able to do. But, be careful and be honest with yourself, are you really willing to listen to what you hear? Are you not able to do things differently, or are you not willing? Go all-in on making your class accessible to everyone. Go to the same people who will benefit and ask for their help to recreate the class; they might love the chance.
