As a business leader you can typically do the following to make it easier cor your team and ensure you avoid burnout:
1. Perform impact analysis and discover the clients that are at risk of facing delays on their request. Issue proactive communication to inform them that delays are possible. Make sure it is sincere, outline the reasons and provide an overview of the preventative measures to ensure such situation won't happen again, and inform them of the available escalation channels for those who cannot wait. Provide also time frames of the expected delay. This should give a bit of fresh air to your team.
2. Investigate the reason for increase in requests and look for a long-term solution to handle it ( like introducing automation)

When Iâve had to manage a sudden spike in service requests, avoiding burnout was top priority for both my team and myself.
What worked best was prioritizing tasks based on urgency, while also ensuring we werenât stretching ourselves too thin.
Delegating effectively made a huge differenceâbreaking tasks down and distributing them across the team helped lighten the load.
Another key step was setting clear boundaries. We made sure to establish realistic response times, managing client expectations upfront.
Lastly, encouraging regular breaks and maintaining open communication helped everyone stay refreshed and prevent burnout, even during the busiest times.
