One of my fav leaders once advised me not to corner a cat else it will have no option not to claw back ð Funny, yet a nugget that has worked for me always: 1. First and foremost establishing credibility as a leader who is keenly intent on team growth and development will be the starting point.. 2. Donât delve straight to feedback but first establish expectations, timelines and WIIFT by performing as required 3. Offer handholding at bottlenecks and coach & mentor 4. Establish informal discussion sessions to talk about expectations and corresponding performance 5. Let them now perform independently 5. Thereafter schedule regular formal reviews as a leader and discuss strengths, hits & misses & corrective actions + support ecosystem
