The base of safety does start with top, middle and floor management buying into a Safety culture of consistency and improvement such S.Q.P (Safety, Quality and Productivity). Ones management adopts a culture, the importance of follow ups is what drives change, all meeting, pass-downs and reports must start with the topic of safety. The next step is the hardest, the buy in of all direct employees into the culture adopted. The change occurs by empowering all employees to speak freely on safety topics and providing the power to stop performing a task if unsafe. The consistency of driving this mentality creates ownership of an area, job, etc. While safety is the topic, Quality and Productivity will also improve.

While deadlines are important, safety is the most important thing. As a safety professional, it is our duty to push back and stand firm with management to say "This isn't safe". A missed deadline is much better than an injured or dead employee

When facing high-pressure production demands, safety is always the priority. To ensure this, I strictly adhere to safety procedures like LOTO and equipment inspections. I emphasize that safety should never be compromised by haste and encourage the team to report any risks, giving them the authority to halt operations if necessary. I also conduct continuous monitoring, provide adequate training, and manage time to avoid rushed decisions. Reviewing incidents to improve safety practices is also essential.

La capacitacion a la totalidad del personal en riesgos de seguridad es indispensable y es la unica forma de crear conciencia, cuando se me presento la oportunidad de capacitar a operadores del area y en uno de los riesgos mas criticos explosion en sistemas de trasporte de granos, encontre que muchas personas desconocian totalmente los riesgos y eran los que mas estaban expuestos en su sitio de trabajo, definitivamente el que no sabe es como el que no ve.

Considero que la mejora solo se logra con investigacion y aprendizaje nuevo cada dia, en seguridad siempre hay que estar actualizado de los eventos e incidentes que suceden no solo en nuestro lugar de trabajo , sino tambien en los de otras industrias y entornos. Esta investigacion debe ir de la mano la actualizacion de nuestras matrices de riesgo y por su puesto con la difusion del nuevo que se ha encontrado.
