Your team is struggling due to a member's poor performance. How will you restore harmony and productivity?
A single team member's poor performance can ripple through the entire group, impacting morale and output. To restore harmony and productivity:
- Address the issue directly with the individual, providing specific feedback and support for improvement.
- Foster open communication within the team, encouraging constructive dialogue and collaborative problem-solving.
- Re-evaluate team roles and responsibilities to ensure equitable workload distribution and leverage each member's strengths.

A supportive discussion with struggling team members is essential to understand their challenges and help in providing constructive feedback. Teamwork truly makes the dream work, and we uplift each other by helping others rise. Celebrating small achievements together can enhance morale and foster a more positive environment.

I usually start this kind of feedback by addressing the issue privately, not in front of the group (golden rule here!). Focus on understanding the root causeâskill gap, workload, or personal challengesâand collaborate on a clear improvement plan. Then, rebuild trust with the rest of the team by being transparent about the steps being taken (without blaming). Show youâre committed to the teamâs success and remind everyone that challenges are opportunities to grow stronger together.

«Lets remember a strong team lifts each other up not leaves anyone behind so work together to find balance again» Totally agree ðð¼

Schedule an open forum discussion without disclosing the member and addressing the team as a whole. Keeping a white board handy, begin to jolt down the challenges faced by inviting the poor performers Also, ask performers to share their experiences. Keep the non performer constantly engaged in sharing opinions, views and also applaud on their success stories of the past. Post discussions, assign tasks with teammates, call listening activities, re-drafting call scripts, creating google forms etc., related to product updates, promotions and competition. Post which, monitor their performance and give them your feedback. This will boost their confidence and improve their productivity benefiting the team as a whole.
