Always keep an open mind for critics and their constructive criticism. It is the critics who help us improve from deficiencies to proficiencies. Incorporating the insights derived from these criticisms into your content and presentation plan will significantly enhance their quality and effectiveness. I vividly remember what my direct manager told me about a project I delivered during the early days of my professional career: âNot very bad.â At first, it seemed like he was being judgmental and too harsh, but when I thoroughly reviewed my performance, I realized how poor my execution was. From there, I improved by leaps and bounds, and Iâm forever grateful for the comment that brought about such enormous change.

I've been there! It's hard not let harsh criticism wreck you, but if you're willing to adopt the perspective that everything is in your life to help you, then you'll welcome criticism with open arms. Allow yourself a limited amount of time to be bothered by it, and once that time is done, move to using it for good. Analyze what was said, determine where the truth and accuracy lie. Looking for patterns in feedback is a great way to determine what is valuable and what is one person's opinion. Make adjustments for the next presentation and re-evaluate using new feedback. Perfecting presentations is truly a never-ending process! And, if you did something truly egregious, APOLOGIZE!
