This is a very valuable question and topic that deserves collaborative sessions within any nonprofit organization. Finding a professional mentor who has successfully accomplished this goal within a different industry or non-competing nonprofit sector can be a great place to start. To expand your nonprofit leadership network, it is wise to conduct research, locate conferences, and attend workshops/seminars that draw your ideal demographic, preferably related to your mission. Any opportunity to connect with peers from different backgrounds and experts willing to share best practices will help broaden your network and fuel greater collaboration internally. Lastly, remember this takes time and creative follow up. You can do it!
