If we were still on conflict I would present my idea with the thought of explaining why I chose this direction. Those reasons should be based on tangible things like staying on brand, differentiating from competitors, standing out with the audience or in the market. It could also be as simple as breaking out of the mold and trying something different...something fresher and newer. It is our jobs as creatives to push boundaries periodically...sometimes pushing boundaries doesn't work out. You should have an open conversation as to the direction you took.
