All companies have a DNA. If they are reaching, it suggests that the DNA has some issues. It is also very rare that a company changes its DNA and remains in business. The hard problem is to find and ensure that different genes express themselves.
3 steps.
1. Define the problem statement for yourself in terms of the clients DNA. Present a modified version of this to the client. Merge business and emotional intelligence.
2. Clients do not want to change. They want other things to change. Usually camouflaged as change in technology, processes, markets or people. Walk this carefully to ensure that acceptable change happens.
